Munich – Berlin-based venture studio Wizard Ventures GmbH (hereinafter „Wizard Ventures„) has sold its portfolio company BaseTemplates (hereinafter „BaseTemplates„) to US-based internet holding Round Ventures (hereinafter „Round Ventures„). The fast-growing start-up platform BaseTemplates (basetemplates.com) is a leading online platform for start-up founders and offers a wide range of products, services and resources such as pitch deck templates, financial models or pitch deck design. All products are designed for ease of use and are based on the tactics of the most successful founders. BaseTemplates is used by 25,000 founders worldwide and is widely recognized for its content.
The Wallberg team consisting of the founders Manuel Brühl, Dr. Arno Malcher and Dr. Simon Sabel provided legal and tax advice to Wizard Ventures on the sale of BaseTemplates to Round Ventures. In particular, Wallberg & Cie.’s distinctive interface expertise in the areas of tax, IT law and transactions was fully utilized in advising Wizard Ventures. In addition to the tax aspects and the corporate law structure of a cross-border transaction, IP-related issues were central to this deal. „Wizard Ventures has built up impressive digital companies in a short space of time.
